Patient Safety Awareness Week 2024

work plan update

The Indian Health Service is committed to providing safe, quality care to our patients. Our staff’s caring commitment to excellence and the people we serve are a driving force for patient safety in the IHS. Our dedicated staff work tirelessly to strengthen systems and innovate in order to deliver safe, effective, quality care to all patients.

Patient Safety Awareness Week is March 11 – 15. This is a time to recognize the tremendous work that our staff do to strengthen patient safety in our facilities, and to bring awareness to the commitment required to maintain and increase that level of safety in the future. As we celebrate Patient Safety Awareness Week, IHS would like to take this opportunity to thank all staff for ensuring our patients receive high quality and safe care. Every IHS employee plays an important role in patient safety and contributes to the safety culture in our agency.

This year the agency tapped into the creativity of IHS staff to develop a Patient Safety Awareness Week slogan. Thank you to all the staff that participated. The winning slogan is highlighted on the Patient Safety Awareness Week banner.

Follow the IHS on Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as we recognize our staff for their commitment to patient safety throughout the week.
