Capital Infrastructure Program – FY 2026 Funding Announcement

The Indian Health Service (IHS) Division of Facilities Planning and Construction (DFPC) is pleased to announce the FY2026 Capital Infrastructure Funds Program (CIFP) cycle is now open for project proposals.

The Capital Infrastructure Funds Program supports improvements to existing health care facilities that reduce operating costs, improve energy and water efficiency, and enhance overall facility performance. Projects are evaluated based on key criteria including return on investment, reduction in energy use, reduction in water use, and improvements to indoor environmental quality.

All IHS Areas are invited to submit project proposals for consideration. Submissions must be coordinated through the respective Area Office and include an Area-approved Request for Funding (RFF) with supporting documentation, cost estimates, and project summaries.

Detailed program guidance, application materials, and submission instructions are available on the DFPC website at: https://www.ihs.gov/dfpc/programs/#cifp

Area Offices are encouraged to begin internal coordination with service units and tribal partners to identify and develop eligible projects. Please notify your respective Service Units and Tribal partners of this opportunity.

The deadline to submit project proposals is COB on May 30, 2026.
