Spiritual care is available to support patients and families during their time at Phoenix Indian Medical Center. Our chaplains provide compassionate, respectful care for people of all faiths, traditions, and beliefs.

How to Request Spiritual Care

  • Ask your nurse or a member of your care team
  • Call 602-581-6587 (Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.)
  • For urgent or after-hours needs, call the PIMC Switchboard at 602-263-1200

What We Offer

Traditional and Cultural Support

We respect and support American Indian and Alaska Native traditional healing practices. Spiritual care services may include:

  • >Traditional prayers and blessings
  • Sweat lodge ceremonies (when available)
  • Coordination with tribal spiritual leaders and practitioners

Our team works to ensure care is culturally respectful and aligned with each patient’s beliefs and preferences.

Who Can Receive Spiritual Care

Spiritual care is available to all patients and families, regardless of religious or spiritual background.

When to Request Spiritual Care

You may request spiritual care at any time, including when:

  • You or a loved one are feeling anxious, afraid, or overwhelmed
  • You are facing a serious illness or medical decision
  • You are experiencing grief or loss
  • You would like spiritual or cultural support during your care
