The Anchorage Dental Study Group will meet 1 hour every 2 months [9 hours/year]. The group will consist of dentists and dental hygienists. Continuing dental education will be provided by the study group participants in one of the following formats:
1. Journal article presentations
2. Clinical case presentations
3. Dental seminars
4. Guest speaker presentations
The purpose of this lecture is to give dentists and hygienists an overview of the causes of chronic kidney diseases, how it is managed and any precautions that need to be taken during routine care.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this session, the participant will be able to:
1. List the characteristics of chronic kidney disease and its symptoms.
2. Discuss the major causes of chronic kidney disease and high risk patients.
3. Explain how chronic kidney disease is tested and how treatment is based.
4. Analyze the management considerations for chronic kidney disease.
5. Recognize how to protect kidneys during routine care.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
