Summary:

This webinar is restricted to USPHS, IHS, and tribal dentists.

The Dental Health Aide Therapists are educated to provide diagnosis, preventive, restorative, and simple surgical oral health care. The profession of dental therapy first began in Alaska in 2004. This presentation will look at what is currently happening in Alaska to educate Dental Health Aides and the outcomes that 16 years of Dental Health Aides have had in Alaska communities.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1.   Describe the various levels of dental health aides and explain their scope of practice
2.   Describe the I?isa?vik College Alaska Dental Therapy Educational Program curriculum.
3.   Identify the effects to increase of access to care and improved health outcomes for communities where dental health aide are working.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
