This is the last quarterly USPHS Dental Webinar. The report Oral Health In America: Advances and Challenges is an examination of the last 20 years for oral health in this country and updates the findings of the last report, Oral Health in America: A Report of the Surgeon General, released in 2000. It also focuses on new scientific and technological knowledge that offer promising new directions for improving oral health care and creating greater equity in oral health across communities. The report is comprised of six sections that provide a comprehensive snapshot of oral health in America, including an examination of oral health across the lifespan and a look at the impact it has on communities and the economy. This presentation will provide an overview of report findings and key messages.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1] Identify persistent oral health challenges [since the 2000 Surgeon General’s Report on Oral Health]
2] List social determinants of health that impact oral health
3] Describe “calls to action” to improve the nation’s oral health

This webinar is open to all USPHS dentist and dental hygienist officers, and dentists from agencies served by the USPHS.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
