Diabetes is an underlying medical condition in people who acquire COVID-19 that can have a significant impact on their response and recovery from COVID. This presentation will provide an update on issues and data related to COVID-19 and people with diabetes and will also include a review of specific efforts that people with diabetes and those who care for them need to be advised of in order to optimize outcomes during this crisis, as well as a discussion of some new and emerging topics related to diabetes management in these difficult times.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.   Continue to help people with diabetes stay healthy and prepared in a time of potential illness or emergency as a result of COVID-19.
2.   Provide the most up to date education and support for clients and their families to reduce risk of contracting COVID-19 by following CDC guidance.
3.   Examine the current challenges and changes to diabetes management that may be required during illness with COVID 19.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
