DE0623: 2022 USPHS Dental Category Day
The 2022 U.S. Public Health Service Scientific & Training Symposium will be held May 23-27 at the Renaissance Glendale in Glendale, Arizona. The theme of this year's conference is "Advancing Public Health. Giving Back. Moving Forward." The Dental Category Day is a subset of the overall meeting, and will be held May 25, 2022 at the meeting hotel.

Target Audience: USPHS active duty and retired dentists, active duty dental hygienists, and civilian dentists. CDE is available only to those with an existing IHS CDE account [active duty USPHS dental officers and dental hygienists from IHS].
Agenda: A full agenda will be made available in promotional materials prior to the meeting, distribution via the USPHS dental listserv.
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
1. Describe protocols in treating patients on bisphosphonate therapy;
2. List steps an oral health provider can do to learn from clinical mistakes;
3. Describe the disparities in access to dental care and disease burden in the U.S.;
4. List 3 key messages from the Oral Health in America report;
5. Describe the proper course of treatment for various traumatic injuries; and
6. List 3 examples of integration of oral health and overall health.

The IHS Division of Oral Health is an accredited sponsor of continuing education under the American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (CERP). ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. Concerns or complaints about a CE provider may be directed to the IHS at IHS CDE Coordinator or to the Commission for Continuing Education Provider Recognition at CCEPR.ada.org

No payment to IHS for CDE credit is required.
Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
