Summary:

This session will provide details on how telenutrition can be used as an effective and practical mode of delivery of diabetes care. The discussion will focus on:
a. the findings of the Crow Service Unit Telenutrition Pilot Program which led to the establishment of the Billings Area Telenutrition Program
b. benefits, drawbacks, and best practices for this alternative mode of delivery of care and
c. important considerations when starting a telenutrition program.

Learning Objectives:

1. Describe best practices for providing diabetes care and education via telehealth.
2. Identify patients who may be well suited for a telehealth visit [technology access and/or clinical considerations].
3. Provide diabetes education via telehealth.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
