Summary:

Sleep is an evidence based practice for reducing risk for obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. This session will provide an overview of the literature and research related to the importance of sleep to the health risk reduction and well being of the whole family even when there is an infant in the home. A discussion of sleep practices to assure sleep at night and during nap times along with research and recommendations for making sane and safe decisions on how and where family members sleep.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1.   Explain benefits and challenges of bedsharing, including facts related to SIDS.
2.   Describe normal sleep at every age and stage from newborn to new parent.
3.   Analyze hidden costs of sleep training and “cry it out” methods.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
