This course provides an in-depth look at the ways in which Dentrix Enterprise features may be used to record documentation in an electronic format since compliance with the NARA Deadline is coming up on 12/31/2022.
Course description:
Johnnie Phillips continues the presentation of the ways in which Dentrix Enterprise digital features may be used to record documentation in an electronic format to eliminate paper copy documents in dental clinic workflows.

Johnnie Phillips has been a Certified Trainer with Henry Schein for over 17 years and has assisted hundreds of practices across the country. Her career spans over 21 years in the dental industry, working with reviewing data for conversions of software, training multiple versions of Dentrix software, and providing instruction for workshops, seminars, and webinars. Her focus on the paperless process, increasing productivity, efficiency and communication has been beneficial when working with Dentrix. Due to Johnnie’s commitment to excellence, she was awarded the IHS Trainer of the Year for 2018.
Agenda:
1. Understand how to avoid the top 3 most common mistakes made by a dental team when transitioning from paper to electronic workflows:
a. Slow and/or inadequate equipment
b. Misfiled and misrepresented electronic documents
c. Outcomes resulting in a return to “old ways”
2. Review of the paper to electronic workflow Change Management within the dental team.
a. Understand ADKAR as a technique to provide a smoother transition from paper to electronic workflows.
b. Review strategies to better understand and communicate changes to the dental team.
3. Identify Dentrix Enterprise tools and features that support the conversion of paper-driven process to electronic workflows.
a. Patient Records Management needs and electronic administrative notes. Understand the variety of note fields and reportable patient tags in Dentrix Enterprise.
i. Dentrix Enterprise Patient Lists & Reports
ii. Dentrix Enterprise documentation/note fields
b. Clinical Records Management needs and supporting documentation workflows. Understand the clinical workflows that promote efficiency for the clinical team.
i. Top five [5] ways to access patient clinical records with the greatest efficiency.
ii. Electronic document storage and workflows to support edits to documents.
Following the presentation, the attendee will be able to:
1. Identify two [2] ways to improve communication of workflow changes to the dental team.
2. List two [2] use cases supported by Dentrix Enterprise Patient Lists.
3. Understand three [3] tools to improve the clinician’s electronic workflow efficiency.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
