DE0471: Nitrous Oxide Safety and Utilization in Dentistry [AIDC Study Club]
This course will review nitrous oxide use as an anxiolytic agent in dentistry. Topics will include environmental standards, safety, equipment, patient selection, and the step-by-step procedure for providing nitrous oxide to dental patients. The final topic will include an update of changes in ADA Guidance Toolkit when using N2O.
This is an AIDC Study Club and is open to the dentists at AIDC.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the safety and environmental standards required for using nitrous oxide in the dental setting.
2. Be familiar with equipment used when providing nitrous oxide to dental patients
3. Know which dental patients are good candidates for nitrous oxide anxiolysis, and the step-by-step procedure for nitrous oxide delivery in the dental operatory.

The Indian Health Service Division of Oral Health (IHS DOH) is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. ADA CERP is a service of the American Dental Association to assist dental professionals in identifying quality providers of continuing dental education. ADA CERP does not approve or endorse individual courses or instructors, nor does it imply acceptance of credit hours by boards of dentistry. IHS DOH designates this activity for 2.00 continuing education credits.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
