DE0374: Pain Management Series 4/4: Effective Patient Communication
This is part of a 4-module series on pain management.
"Effective Patient Communication " will describe how to screen patients for SUDs, including OUD, identify factors that place patients at increased risk for OUD, describe how to respectfully communicate with patients about SUDs, and discuss steps for referring patients to SUD/OUD support services.
Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize drug-seeking behaviors;
2. Initiate a conversation regarding opioid misuse with patients; and
3. Describe referral options after recognizing signs of opioid use disorder.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
