DE0030: Diabetes Online CDE: Eye Care for People with Diabetes
This seminar will cover evidence based medicine related to the latest guidelines for Diabetes Eye Care. Recommendations for application of these guidelines will be discussed in terms of preventing avoidable vision loss due to diabetic retinopathy among AI/ANs. This presentation will also provide an overview of the IHS/JVN program.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Examine research on human milk, the virus, and immunoglobulins. Provide current information regarding the rationale for the standard of care and its role in preventing the leading cause of new blindness among working age individuals.
2. Identify the qualifying examination types for satisfying the standard of care for diabetic retinopathy in Indian country.
3. Explain the benefits of having a teleophthalmology program in an AI/AN community and how to get a program started.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
