Summary:

This course will provide guidance regarding dental infection prevention and control practices for the dental team. Topics discussed will help prepare clinics for accreditation surveys and understand proper procedures and protocols.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.   Understand the difference between accreditation organizations and regulatory agencies and how they impact your practice.
2.   Know where to find and how to follow manufacturer’s instructions for use.
3.   Know where to locate and how to use the CDC Dental Check app.

Lisa Cone is a dental hygienist with over thirty-five years of experience in the dental field, including twenty years as a Commissioned Officer for the US Public Health Service. She has worked as a dental assistant, dental hygienist, clinic director, and infection control manager. She is a Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician and has completed the OSAP-DALE Foundation Dental Infection Prevention and Control Certificate Program.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
