Information Systems Security Awareness (ISSA)
All IHS information system users must take annual security training in order to fulfill federal mandates and regulations.
In addition, all new users must successfully complete this course within 24 hours of onboarding.
Failure to complete training requirements will result in the loss of information systems access.

SPECIAL NOTICE
Any new request for IT access requires that the user has completed the current FY ISSA training prior to gaining that access. This includes new employee access, new or re-enabling of VPN requests, and modifications to existing IT access to include resetting of a user's network account password.
The Fiscal Year 2026 ISSA Training covers the following:
- Acknowledgement and Acceptance of the IHS Rules of Behavior
- Cybersecurity Resources
- HIPAA and HITECH Basics and Data Handling
- Phishing and Ransomware and Mobile Devices
- Artificial Intelligence and Insider Threats
- Security, Clean Desk, and RTO and Unauthorized Access
- Incident Types and Incident Reporting
IHS has developed this training in accordance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines on information technology security awareness and training.
