This webinar is offered through a collaboration with the IHS Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention, with the recording available on the DDTP website at https://www.ihs.gov/diabetes/training/cmece-online-edu/diabetes-online-cme-ce-education/.

Many AI/AN communities are located in remote areas and have unique challenges in providing access to healthcare, including access to both general and specialty healthcare. Telemedicine has made this possible at ANMC and other places in Indian Country. This session will focus on the history of medicine at ANMC, the role of telemedicine in the care and management of chronic diseases [such as diabetes] in patients in remote locations, telemedicine resources, and the future direction of telemedicine.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Define remote monitoring and telehealth services.
2. Identify tools and resources that can be used for remote monitoring and telehealth patient care services.
3. Describe how remote monitoring and telehealth can improve patient care.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
