The Choctaw Health Center [CHC] is a 20-bed general medical facility which provides both inpatient and outpatient services. It also provides dental, optical and mental health services to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. The Choctaw Service Unit consists of a hospital clinic and three satellite clinics located in the larger outlying communities. The CHC Dental Clinic is the headquarters for all public health activities and consists of sixteen operatories. Two of the satellite dental clinics [Bogue Chitto and Conehatta] consist of four operatories. The other satellite dental clinic consists of two operatories. Thus, there are twenty six operatories all told in the Choctaw Service Unit. Each satellite clinic is only open three days a week on average. The Choctaw Service Unit does try to keep the scheduling of these clinics consistent from year to year. However, the dental program does reserve the right to alter the schedule based on need and staffing. There is not a concrete schedule for each satellite clinic at this time. |
