World Autism Day Interagency Roundtable

In observance of World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, IHS will host the second annual World Autism Day Interagency Roundtable . The event will be streamed online via Adobe Connect from 1:00-3:30 PM EDT. Professionals from Autism Speaks Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov  and other federal agencies will join IHS to discuss the work being done to address the needs of those with autism spectrum disorder Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov  and share important resources to provide each person with autism an opportunity to achieve the highest possible quality of life.

Autism spectrum disorder is a developmental disability that can cause significant social, communication, and behavioral challenges. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov  estimates that 1 in 59 children has ASD, and boys are significantly more likely to develop ASD than girls.
