National Public Health Week: April 6-12

National Public Health Week: April 6-12

Public health is the science of protecting and improving the health of people and their communities. Public health professionals promote healthy lifestyles, research disease and injury prevention, and detect, prevent and respond to infectious diseases. During National Public Health Week, the IHS would like to recognize and thank the public health workers across the Indian health system, and the world, working on the front line as we continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each year, this week provides an opportunity to highlight the contributions of public health and recognize issues that are important to improving our nation’s health.
