National Immunization Awareness Month

National Immunization Awareness Month

August is National Immunization Awareness Month. This annual observance highlights the importance of getting recommended vaccines throughout your life. We know the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted all aspects of life, including the ability to attend important medical appointments and receive routine vaccinations. As children head back to school this fall, it’s particularly important to make sure they get caught up on missed well-child visits and recommended vaccines.

During Immunization Awareness Month, we encourage you to talk to your doctor, nurse or health care provider to ensure you and your family are protected against serious diseases by getting caught up on routine vaccination. This includes COVID-19 vaccinations, which are available for everyone ages 6 months and older, and COVID-19 boosters, which are available for everyone ages 5 years and older.
