Description:
CLINIC MEDS - INPATIENT MEDICATIONS FOR OUTPATIENTS (IMO) is designed to enable an RPMS EHR user: (a) to order a unit-dose, medication that is dispensed by Inpatient Pharmacy and administered to an Outpatient in an Ambulatory Clinic setting; (b) expand Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) functionality to send IMO orders via the BOP Interface to ADCs for Outpatient Profiling; and (c) expand Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) performance from its current hardcoded limitation of patients with Admission Status (i.e. Inpatients) to include ambulatory status (i.e. Outpatients). This new functionality will improve patient medication safety and enhance medication administration within Ambulatory Settings such as Emergency Department, Urgent Care, OB Triage, Infusion Clinic, and Same Day Surgery. IMO will also implement the display of those unit-dose orders, IV Fluid (Infusion) orders, and Nursing text orders written in from and authorized IMO location under the "Clinic Orders" display group.
