Description:
The 2015 Certified Health Information Technology (CHIT) is now certified for the 2015 Edition Cures Update. This effort requires an update to Electronic Health Record (EHR) and other applications in order to adhere to criteria established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC). By utilizing this upgraded software, sites will meet the certification requirements of CMS and ONC and meet the criteria established by CMS to participate in their incentive programs. This comprehensive course provides Clinical Informaticists with an overview of the changes that impact users concerning selected applications within the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) EHR. The goal of this training is to equip Clinical Informaticists with the knowledge and tools for successful implementation.

RPMS EHR PHARMACY INFORMATICS OVERVIEW:
What does this hands-on training course encompass?
This is a virtual 20-hour course for pharmacists to build on fundamental and advanced skill of the RPMS EHR Pharmacy Package.
Participants will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to (a) promote standardization, (b) optimize drug file, (c) utilize the basic tools necessary for maintenance, and (e) discourage unique local solutions.
OBJECTIVES/OUTCOMES:
At the end of this activity, pharmacist should be able to:
1. Examine the Informaticist role and tasks.
2. Apply best practices for Drug File Management.
3. Properly manage the immunization package and utilize tips/tricks for VFC Programs.
4. Effectively manage Bar-Code Medication Administration within the Emergency Department.
5. Identify advanced data analysis tips and tricks through Microsoft Excel and basic programming skills.
To obtain CPE credit, you must attend each session in full, complete a course evaluation, and document your attendance on the sign-in record. ACCREDITATIONS:
In support of improving patient care, IHS Clinical Support Center is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
PHARMACISTS:
This activity provides 20 hours of Application-based continuing pharmacy education credit (CPE) with the Universal Activity Number:
JA4008177-0000-24-071-L04-P.
Credit will be uploaded to the NABP CPE Monitor within 30 days after the activity completion. It is the responsibility of the pharmacist to provide the correct information (NABP ID and DOB (MMDD) in order to receive credit.
