This is a refresher EFDA course available ONLY to staff of Ft. Defiance.

The intent of this lecture course is to provide a comprehensive review of the basic knowledge base and current restorative techniques for predictable and successful placement of basic and advanced dental restorations by dentists and expanded functions dental assistants. This course aims to provide a more in-depth understanding of tooth anatomy and basic concepts of occlusion and tooth function. Other topics include: A review of restorative dental materials, amalgam restoration placement including tips and techniques, basic principles of dental adhesion and proper technique in placing dental bonding agents, anterior and posterior composite restoration placement, dental curing lights, and posterior composite sectional matrix systems. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

1. Gain a more in-depth understanding of tooth anatomy and occlusion and the critical role they play;
2. Gain a thorough understanding of restorative dental materials including dental amalgam, dental bonding agents, dental composite, posterior composite sectional matrices, and curing lights; and
3. Utilize amalgam and composite restorative techniques to place predictable and successful dental restorations

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
