Summary:

This course will provide dental assistants with the knowledge and skills to perform supplemental oral surgery procedures and understand why and how oral surgery procedures are performed.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe complex oral surgery procedures and their role in those procedures;
2. Explain how to recognize and treat medical emergencies; and
3. Describe adjunctive measures in an oral surgery practice.

Tuition Payment Information:

Title V compacted programs should send $200.00 per student to:

IHS Division of Oral Health, ATTN: CDE Coordinator, 5600 Fishers Lane, Mail Stop 08N34 A, Rockville, MD 20857.

Tuition is required only for staff from Title V Compact programs, and is required at least 2 weeks prior to the course.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
