DE0311: Diabetes Online CDE: New and Innovative Tools from DDTP
This session will provide information on a variety of new and innovative diabetes education tools from the Division of Diabetes Treatment and Prevention. Approaches for integrating diabetes education into individual clinic sessions, as well as, lesson plans for group sessions will be shared. Strategies for encouraging and engaging patients in their diabetes self-management and helping them achieve good outcomes will also be discussed.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Implement strategies for using new materials to enhance diabetes education practices and improve patient engagement.
2. Incorporate into daily practice new innovative, hands-on, culturally based, diabetes education tools.
3. Describe the effect of diabetes education on self-management of the disease.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
