Summary:

Overall Course Summary
[brief description of the course; this will appear in the CDE catalog]:   Telehealth has already been shown to be an efficient and effective means of providing diabetes care and education. This session will provide details for how telehealth can be used as an efficient and practical mode to provide diabetes care during the COVID-19 pandemic. The benefits and barriers associated with this mode of care will be discussed. The session will include a case presentation.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1.   Examine best practices for providing diabetes care and education via telemedicine.
2.   Identify patients who may be well suited for a telehealth visit [technology access and/or clinical considerations].
3.   Provide diabetes education via telemedicine.

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
