DD0031: 2020 IHS ADO-HQ Dental Meeting
IHS Area Dental Officers face unique challenges: almost as soon as they assume the role of ADO they are expected to be experts on everything from recruitment, pay and benefits, tribal self-governance, dental public health, clinic design, clinical efficiency, and myriad other topics. The 2020 ADO-HQ Meeting sessions are designed to teach seasoned ADOs and HQ staff key concepts regarding dental public health, personnel management, clinical efficiency and effectiveness, program budget management, time management, and how to work within the system by building and developing partnerships, collaborations, and valuable relationships with fellow ADOs, Area Office staff and Headquarters staff.
Session 1: October 6, 2020: ADO Concepts IV - 2 hours
Session 2: October 8, 2020: COVID-19 Infection Control Issues - 2 hours
Session 3: October 13, 2020: Health Promotion/Disease Prevention - 2 hours
Session 4: October 15, 2020: Recruitment Update/CDO Issues - 1 hour
Upon completion of this course, the participant will be able to:
1. Discuss how to help dental directors with specific scenarios related to dental clinic management during the COVID-19 pandemic;
2. Provide an overview of the CDC's guidelines for infection control in dental settings during the pandemic; and
3. Describe the improvement made in 13-15 year-old dental disease in the AI/AN population.

Must be an Area Dental Officer or IHS Headquarters Division of Oral Health.
Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
