Summary:

This webinar is for the California Area only.

This 120-minute lecture reviews the epidemiology, etiology, localization, clinical features, histopathology, and management of oral lichen planus, mucous membrane pemphigoid, and pemphigus vulgaris. Part 1 describes the microscopic characteristics of oral ulcerative and blistering lesions and common diagnostic laboratory tests. Part 2 offers case examples and reviews clinicopathologic features. Part 3 discusses patient management including biopsy techniques, treatment, and referral. The lecture stresses the importance of the dental professional’s role in detecting and managing oral ulcerative and blistering diseases.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will understand:
Learning objective 1: Review the microscopic characteristics of oral ulcerative and blistering diseases including common diagnostic laboratory tests
Learning objective 2: Review the epidemiology, etiology, clinical features, and management of oral ulcerative and blistering disease
Learning objective 3: Discuss how to describe the clinical appearance of oral ulcerative and blistering diseases, how to work up common oral lesions, and how to perform intraoral biopsies

Tuition Policy:

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
