DE0616: Diabetes Online CDE: What Can I Eat? Diabetes Nutrition Education Curriculum for American Indian and Alaska Native Adults with Type 2 Diabetes
This presentation will provide information on the What Can I Eat [WCIE] diabetes nutrition education curriculum for use with AI/AN adults with type 2 diabetes [T2D]. WCIE was developed to meet the unique needs of AI/AN communities. The curriculum includes 5 interactive, theory-based, diabetes nutrition education classes for adult AI/ANs who have T2D and their family members/support persons. The presentation will include: key findings from needs assessment used to develop WCIE, a brief description of the development process, our pivot to remote-WCIE lessons due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an overview of the pilot protocol for WCIE, and the next steps in evaluating WCIE.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
