DE0618: Diabetes Online CDE: Nutrition for Kidney Health: Preventing and Managing Kidney Disease
This session will provide an overview of the principles of a. healthy eating for optimal kidney health and b. medical nutrition therapy for kidney disease. Moreover, the presentation will include a review of various dietary patterns, foods, and nutrients of importance for kidney disease prevention and management.
1. Identify nutritional factors associated with changes in CKD risk.
2. Use MNT focal points for kidney disease and for the different treatment modalities in kidney failure to provide nutrition care and education.
3. Educate patients on nutrition-related tools and strategies for the management of kidney disease and complications.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
