DE0326: USPHS Quarterly CDE Webinar: COVID-19 and the USPHS Dental Response [Recorded Webinar]
Beginning with the first case early in 2020, the U.S. and the world have faced the global pandemic of COVID-19. Close to 100,000 deaths worldwide and over 1 million cases by early April 2020, this pandemic has resulted in depletion of personal protective equipment globally, impacted the economies of the world significantly, and has dominated news. In the U.S., in an effort to mitigate the spread of the novel corona virus, the federal government has recommended the postponement of elective dental procedures. This one-hour quarterly USPHS webinar will focus on the federal response as it pertains to dentistry for the COVID-19 crisis. This webinar is open to dentists in USPHS agencies [IHS, BOP, USCG, IHSC, CDC, NIDCR, FDA, HRSA].
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the guidance from the White House Task Force related to dental and COVID-19;
2. List two key concepts from the CDC Division of Oral Health guidance related to COVID-19; and
3. List at least one HHS agency's guidance specific to dental programs and COVID-19.
