DE0483: Diabetes Online CDE: Results from the 2021 IHS Diabetes Care and Outcomes Audit
Results from the IHS Diabetes Care and Outcomes Audit [Audit] provide valuable information to participating facilities for evaluation and improvement. Each year, these facilities gather data on their American Indian and Alaska Native diabetes patients and submit it to the IHS Division of Diabetes for review and report generation. This webinar will provide an overview of the Audit process and national results from the 2021 Annual Audit, including discussion of the impact of COVID-19 on diabetes care and outcomes.
1. Identify the purpose and background of the Diabetes Audit.
2. Describe key results from the 2021 Audit, including the impact of COVID-19 on diabetes care and outcomes in Indian country.
3. Apply Audit results to address areas for improvement in diabetes care.
It is the policy of the Indian Health Service, Division of Oral Health, that faculty/planners disclose any financial or other relationships with commercial companies whose products may be discussed in the educational activity. Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
