This webinar is specifically developed for dental staff from IHS, tribal, and urban programs in the Oklahoma City, Bemidji, and Great Plains Areas. American Indians and Alaskan Natives suffer a greater chance of having Type 2 Diabetes than any other U.S. racial group.Is all about genetics? Diet? What part does Periodontal Disease play in this crisis? Dr. Debbie Ozment will present relevant research to empower you with broader knowledge and verbal skills.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Review the current knowledge of the relationship between Type 2 Diabetes and Periodontal Disease
2. Assess the potential for delaying or preventing Type 2 Diabetes via early treatment and diagnosis of Periodontal Disease
3. Create greater collaboration and respect between physicians and dentists to enhance the lives of American
Indians and Alaskan Natives

Participants should be dental staff from IHS, tribal, and urban programs in the Oklahoma City, Bemidji, and Great Plains Areas.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
