Sound evidence-based local anesthesia practices can serve as a backbone for practice efficiency and positive patient feedback. Routine local anesthesia injection practices of nerve blocks and infiltration techniques provide a high degree of success although in many cases of acute pain or unique 'tough to numb' patients these will often fail to provide profound anesthesia leading to poor procedural outcomes and future treatment avoidance. A review of physiological insights from the literature, intraosseous anesthesia technique fundamentals, and patient examples will enhance practitioners ability to manage difficult situations chairside following the discussion.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
1. Understand physiological factors associated with acute and chronic pain and associated management strategies;
2. Describe different intraosseous anesthesia approaches; and
3. Describe the rationale, indications, and contraindications for different anesthesia approaches.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
