DE0896: OCA/BEM/GP Quarterly Meeting [Recorded Webinar]
This webinar is specifically developed for dental staff from IHS, tribal, and urban programs in the Oklahoma City, Bemidji, and Great Plains Areas.
Cultural diversity and competency are lifelong processes of self-awareness, attitudes, knowledge, and skills that are utilized on a daily basis. Understanding how these processes are delivered, one can enhance their ability to advocate for others through providing quality health care services, align health care systems, and abide by health care policies to improve health outcomes. This dental meeting will cover cultural competency and how it serves within a social determinant setting.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Understand the term cultural competence.
2. Understand the importance of cultural competence in the healthcare system.
3. Understand how culture impacts the healthcare system.
4. Define unhoused population.
5. List the number of health services provided to unhoused participants.
6. Determine if Lawton Indian Hospital, Dental accomplished their goal of number of participants received health care service.

Participants should be dental staff from IHS, tribal, and urban programs in the Oklahoma City, Bemidji, and Great Plains Areas.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
