This presentation will discuss diabetes distress and how it impacts the patients you care for every day. We will review different screening tools used to assess a patient’s level of distress related to their diabetes. We will also identify how healthcare providers can help their patient manage their diabetes distress with the assistance of Behavioral Health Specialists as a part of the care team.

As a result of completing this training, participants will be able to:
1]   Examine diabetes distress and how it impacts patients with diabetes
2]   Identify screening tools used to assess for and manage diabetes distress
3]   Educate patients on managing diabetes distress and appropriately refer to the Behavioral Health Specialists diabetes care team

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
