Women's Clinic

Care at the PIMC Women’s Clinic focuses on delivering the best outcomes for your obstetric and gynecologic needs. Dedicated midwives, physicians, and specialized nurse practitioners provide care throughout the lifespan, from the beginning of menses through menopause and beyond.

Family planning services include contraception/pregnancy prevention methods such as birth control pills, patches, and rings, IUDs, the Nexplanon implant, surgery for permanent sterilization, and more. We provide diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for abnormal pap smears, which test for changes that can lead to cervical cancer. Concerns such as abnormal menstrual bleeding, problematic menopause symptoms, and bleeding after menopause can all be evaluated in the Women’s Clinic. Other clinic services include testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), pap smears, surgery consultations, evaluation for pelvic organ prolapse, and evaluation of incontinence. Not available at PIMC are certain specialized services: surgery for incontinence or prolapse, treatment for gynecologic cancers, and infertility treatment (IVF, etc.).

Pregnancy care – from the first positive pregnancy test to postpartum follow-up – is all provided in the PIMC Women’s Clinic. Our practice is midwife-driven for low-risk pregnancies, with experienced physicians managing more complex prenatal care needs. PIMC midwives and physicians work at the brand-new, state-of-the-art Valleywise Health Medical Center 24 hours/day, 7 days/week to provide emergency OB care and labor and delivery.
