Welcome to the Yakama Indian Health Center. Our mission is to raise the physical, mental, social and spiritual health of American Indians and Alaska Natives to the highest level. The Yakama Indian Health Center is a 40,000 SF AAAHC accredited Medical home that provides a full range of services including, Primary Care, Dental, Optometry, Laboratory and Radiology that services a population of over 13,000 American Indians/Alaska Natives.
The Yakama Indian Health Center is located on the Yakama Indian Reservation on the edge of the city of Toppenish, WA approximately 20 minutes from the city of Yakima, WA . The Yakama Indian Reservation is located in the Yakima Valley is comprised of 1,371,918 acres. Although our tribe ceded 10,828,800 acres of ancestral homeland to the U.S. government, we reserved our right to hunt, fish, access and use traditional cultural sites, gather traditional foods and medicines, and pasture in all of our "usual and accustomed places" within this ceded area. The Yakama Reservation is primarily agricultural on the valley floor, with range or grazing in the foothills, and forested to the west and south.
Yakima Valley is centrally located in Washington State and is only sixty minutes from the Tri-Cities and 2 and 1/2 hours away from Seattle, WA , 3 hours away from Spokane, WA and Portland, OR .
The Yakima Valley is an agricultural and recreational mecca with over 300 days of sunshine per year a pleasant mix of perfect weather, farm fresh produce, and outdoor adventure where one can ski, mountain bike, and golf all in the same day.
