Indian Health Service Director's Awards
The Director of the Indian Health Service (IHS) recognizes individuals or groups of employees whose special efforts and contributions, beyond regular duty requirements, have resulted in significant benefits to the IHS strategic goals, objectives and programs, customers and fulfillment of the IHS mission.
Nominations are to be submitted for one of the following award categories that are based on the nature of the act, service, or performance.

- IHS Director's Award
- IHS Director’s Award for Patient Safety
- IHS Director's Award for Customer Service
- IHS Buford Rolin National Achievement Award
To nominate an employee, complete the nomination form above and submit it to IHSAwardManagement@ihs.gov once all required signatures are complete. Digital forms, not scanned copies, are preferred. All awards require signature from the nominator along with one of the following as applicable: Hospital Tier Director or Designee, Area Director, or HQ Office Director. Offices and Areas may set internal deadlines to ensure timely processing. Please only submit each nomination for one category.
