Indian Country ECHO CHR Program Series

The Indian Country CHR ECHO Series builds CHR knowledge and skills across key priority areas. Session topics reflect the scope of CHR practice—from harm reduction, HIV prevention (PrEP/PEP), and sexual health education, to chronic disease prevention such as diabetes, and cardiovascular health support. The series also addresses emerging and foundational areas including trauma-informed care, community mental wellness, immunization education, and effective health messaging.

The CHR ECHO series supports of CHRs as Traditional Healthcare Workers and emphasizes self-care and wellness—recognizing that a strong workforce is critical to strong communities. Sessions on using community data for action further equip CHRs to identify needs, inform programming, and advocate for resources grounded in local priorities.

The Indian Country Community Health Representative CHR ECHO webinar series Exit Disclaimer: You Are Leaving www.ihs.gov  provides comprehensive information to support Indian Health Service, Tribal, and Urban Indian Community Health Representatives and community-based health workers. Monthly webinar series are held on the 3rd Monday of each month at 3pm ET. Sessions provide essential information and knowledge for the community health workforce unique to competencies, care, screening, emergency preparedness, and home visiting.


The Indian Country CHR ECHO Series (2026) builds on this foundation by strengthening CHR knowledge and skills across key priority areas. Session topics reflect the real-world scope of CHR practice—from harm reduction, HIV prevention (PrEP/PEP), and sexual health education, to chronic disease prevention such as diabetes and cardiovascular health.
