DE0936: Dental Health Aides [Recorded Webinar]
Dental Health Aides have different scopes of practice with the scope focusing on prevention and then expanding to restorative care. Participants will be educated of what is happening to educate and prepare these dental providers to enhance health outcomes for the communities they serve. The course will also look at the impact dental health aides have had on oral health outcomes.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe the various levels of dental health aides and explain the scope of practice of each level.
2. Describe the Ilisagvik College/ANTHC Alaska Dental Therapy Educational Program curriculum.
3. Identify the effects to increase of access to care and improved health outcomes for communities where dental therapists are working.

Tuition must be paid in full 8 weeks prior to the start date of any course. Request for refunds must be received in writing at least two weeks before the course begins. For each refund request, there will be an administrative charge of $100. No refunds will be made to registrants who fail to attend a course. If IHS CDE program cancels a course, then 100% of the tuition will be refunded.
