Overview

The RRM Alcohol and Substance Abuse staffing module estimates the requirements for counselors and therapist to provide therapeutic counseling and referral services to serve individuals with problems of alcohol and substance abuse. The Alcohol and substance professionals serve as resource persons coordinating agency services and developing programs and facilities as well as conducting educational and training programs. The workload parameter that is the key variable in the staffing estimation is User Population and Average Daily Patient Load for inpatient facilities.

Services Description:

Alcohol and Substance Abuse services are designed to serve individuals with efforts focused on problems of alcohol and substance abuse. Professionals serve as resource persons coordinating agency services and developing programs and facilities as well as conducting educational and training programs.

Staffing Criteria

AMBULATORY

0.70 FTE ASA Counselor for 1,000 or more User Population, plus 0.30 FTEs ASA Counselor for every 1,000 User Population above 1,000.

0.70 FTE ASA Therapist for 1,000 or more User Population, plus 0.30 FTEs ASA Therapist for every 1,000 User Population above 1,000.

(Note: If the User Population is below 1,000 the are no FTEs.)

INPATIENT

0.10 FTE ASA Counselor for every 3 ADPL
