Grants Awarded across Indian Country to Integrate Behavioral Health and Primary Care Health Systems
The Indian Health Service Office of Clinical and Preventive Services (OCPS), Division of Behavioral Health, awarded 14 grants to Tribes, Tribal organizations, and Urban organizations. The purpose of the IHS BH2I grant is to improve the physical and mental health status of American Indian and Alaska Native people with behavioral health issues by developing an integrative, coordinated system of care between behavioral health and primary care providers.

BH2I-2 Standards of Care Manual
Standards of care are critical to increasing coordination among health care and social service providers who work toward improving patient outcomes and satisfaction.
The BH2I Cohort 2 Standards of Care Manual elaborates on a framework of ten domains of integrated care to guide IHS, Tribal, and urban Indian (I/T/U) clinics in progressing toward greater levels of behavioral health integration, supporting the development of effective integrated care programs that will enhance health outcomes for patients and communities served by IHS.
