Policy & StandardIHS.gov has three sets of standards which must be followed at IHS. The first set of requirements are found on USA.gov and are the Federal Laws and Regulations for Government Websites. These policies include Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, the E-Government Act, Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), Paperwork Elimination Act, Performance Result Act, Information Quality, No Fear Act, Digital Rights, Copyright, Trademark and Patent Laws as well as many regulations on records management and information quality.
The second set of standards are the HHS Standards, Guidelines & Guidance . HHS also has an entire website dedicated to usability of websites and is found at Usabilty.gov .
The final set of standards are the IHS.gov Standards, these include: The Indian Health Manual (IHM) Internet Domain and Web Hosting Policy, IHS and HHS Logo usage Guidance [PDF - 224KB], Website Style Guide [PDF - 64KB] and the standards below. These standards help to ensure consistency in appearance, address Section 508 issues, usability, and are broken out by visual page element:
