Applications of the CANS-Trauma and FANS-Trauma Series: This series will provide an overview of the CANS-Trauma and FANS-Trauma tools in relation to trauma-informed assessment, treatment and service planning, and caregiver/family engagement. The use of these assessment strategies will be discussed in a range of service settings including mental health and child welfare, and applications to trauma-informed treatment planning, sequencing, and goal setting will also be addressed. Child Sexual Abuse Series: These webinars, developed by the NCTSN Child Sexual Abuse Committee, feature experts in the field, as well as parent and consumer perspectives. Childhood Traumatic Grief Series: While many children adjust well after a death, other children have ongoing difficulties that interfere with everyday life and make it difficult to recall positive memories of their loved ones. A child may have a traumatic reaction after a death that was sudden and unexpected (e.g., through violence or an accident) or a death that was anticipated (e.g., due to illness). If the child’s responses are severe or prolonged and interfere with his or her functioning, the child maybe experiencing Childhood Traumatic Grief.
