You are invited to participate in the upcoming 2024 Mental Health Equity and Advocacy Round Table Mini-Conference (MHEART) at Stanford, as part of our community through the Native American Youth Mental ECHO. You can register here for the 2024 MHEART Mini-Conference, which will be held on March 21, 2024.
This year, MHEART has a focus on Indigenous mental health equity with the keynote session titled "Mental Health Equity from an Indigenous Lens: Maintaining Culture while Battling Systems of Oppression,” co-presented by Stephanie Gillson, MD, and Jessica Elm, Ph.D. We will also have break-out presentations from La Clínica de la Raza, Roots Community Health Center, and San Mateo County (among others!).
MHEART will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 2:00 PM-7:00 PM. Please see the flyer (PNG) for details.
Location: Online, via Zoom & in-person at Stanford Li Ka Shing Center 291 Campus Drive, Stanford, CA
MHEART will be a free event for students, trainees, community health providers, researchers, and clinicians to gather to build relationships, share knowledge, and strengthen academic-community collaborations. We hope to provide a space that allows attendees to:
- Learn from those who are passionate about mental health equity
- Build knowledge and skills in advocacy and community-driven research
- Explore best practices for building, as well as sustaining, collaborative community-academic partnerships
- Learn about practical ways to address structural inequities in mental health
