The Division of Health Facilities Engineering (HFE) works with California tribes/tribal organizations, as well as federal, state, county, non-profit, and private organizations, to ensure effective planning, construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of federal, tribal and urban owned healthcare facilities. HFE provides technical assistance to ensure that safe and functional physical environment exists for Native patients.

To support the delivery of health care and preventive services to American Indians and Alaska Natives and to safe­guard interests in property.
