Description:
Indian and Alaska Native populations. Participants will learn to identify early signs and symptoms of brain injury and understand barriers to timely identification in tribal clinical settings. The session will emphasize culturally responsive, trauma-informed screening and assessment, compare commonly used brain injury tools suitable for IHS, tribal, and urban Indian health systems, and explore strategies to strengthen care coordination, referral, and follow-up while respecting tribal sovereignty and community priorities.
